The Witch Head Nebula

Rarely do things in space look so much like their name. Remnants of a star exploded long ago, The Witch Head Nebula glows blue, reflecting light from nearby Rigel, as if she’s peering into a crystal ball.

This large but faint nebula was captured over two nights in Joshua Tree National Park and the Mojave Preserve in 2020.
