Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS

Comet A3/2023 ATLAS sets over Cedar Breaks National Monument, Utah on October 14th, 2024.

Comet ATLAS seen near its closest approach to Earth. Comets are visitors from the outer solar system; balls of rock and ice, remnants of violent celestial events long ago, burning their way through the gravity well of the Sun.

Comet C/2023 A3’s tail was 18 million miles long, and appeared in the sky 20x larger than the size of the moon.
